PRINTER NOT BEING SET AS DEFAULT IN WINDOWS XP

 

Even though the printer appears to be installed properly,

check the "Set as Default Printer" setting.

 

To do this follow the steps below:

 

Verify the Printer is Set as Default Printer Open Control Panel.

· If the customer is using the Windows XP default Start menu,

from the Start menu, click Control Panel.

 

· If the customer is using the Classic Start menu, from the Start menu point

to Settings, and then click Printers and Faxes.

 

In Control Panel, open Printers and Faxes.

· If the computer is in Category View, click Printers and Other Hardware,

and then click Printers and Faxes.

 

· If the computer is in Classic View, double- click Printers and Faxes.

 

In the Printers and Faxes window, click the appropriate printer icon.

Verify

that the printer icon has a black circle with a white check mark to the left

of the printer name.

 

If it does not, from the File menu, click Set as Default Printer.
