Make the Internet Explorer Status Bar Stick

The following instructions are for locking it permanently:

1. First follow the previous instructions for displaying the status bar.
2. Click Start | Run and type regedit to open the registry editor.
3. Navigate to:
   HKEY Current User\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main.
4. Select Show_StatusBar
5. Click the Edit menu and click Permissions.
6. Click Advanced
7. One at a time, highlight each name in the list and click the Edit button.
8. For each, check Deny on the Set value row and click OK. Do this for each name, including Administrators and System.
9. Close the registry editor.

Now nothing can ever get rid of your IE status bar again.
