How to
Convert Your FAT32 Partitions to NTFS
If you're running XP on FAT32, you can't use EFS.
However, you can convert your FAT32 file system to NTFS easily.
Just open a command prompt and type
the following command:
convert c: /FS:NTFS
and press [ENTER]. This can be used on any FAT16 or FAT32 drive; just
substitute the appropriate drive letter. This will perform a non-destructive
conversion from FAT32 to NTFS. The conversion from FAT32 to NTFS does not
destroy data, but you should always back up your data before carrying out any
major change to your computer, in case something goes wrong. Note that you
might have to restart the computer to allow the conversion to take place. Also
note that it's a one way operation; you can't convert back from NTFS to FAT
using the convert command.
